Affordable art: Wrapping papers

It’s time for another post in my Affordable Art blog series and this time it’s all about pretty, arty wrapping papers

Wrapping papers are, by their nature, always going to be cheap. And with the emergence of arty wrapping papers, these are a fantastic way to acquire a sizeable piece of ‘art’ very affordably. Below are my favourite sources for arty gift wrap.

VINTAGE POSTER LOOK WRAPPING PAPERS BY CAVALLINI & CO.
San Francisco based stationers Cavallini & Co. produce wrapping papers that are designed to look like vintage posters in a perfect 50x70cm size. They come in a wide range of subjects: insects, animals, colours, alphabets, cities, botany, anatomy, solar system, maps, sea life… the list goes on! Happily many of the designs are available in the UK: they sell for £3 each at Willow & Stone and at Waterstones stores where I found mine.

A 50x70cm print for £3? Yes please! I mean, sure, you can use it to actually wrap a gift but these are so popular as cheap posters that Cavallini also produce wooden poster kits in portrait and landscape to hang your wrapping paper/poster (also available at Willow & Stone, among other retailers).

MARBLED PAPERS BY KATIE LEAMON
Are we all still loving marble designs? Hell yeah! Especially when they look as beautiful as Katie Leamon‘s designs:

Katie Leamon’s wrapping papers would make a gift look incredibly pretty, and look fabulous on your wall. You don’t even have to make a choice, as these beautiful designs come in a set of 2 for £5.50.

ABSTRACT ART WRAPPING PAPERS BY JUNIQE
I mentioned Juniqe in my Affordable art: Art calendars post, and this shop is shining here again. Just look at these wrapping papers they sell:

Hung up on your wall, no one would know your gorgeous abstract art is inexpensive wrapping paper! £6.90 for a set of 3 sheets. There are many more designs on the Juniqe website, so check them out!

These are just a few sources where you can find arty wrapping paper. I’m sure if you looked through Etsy or other arty websites, you’d find many more. Have you come across gift wrap that you think would make for lovely art?

I LOVE this Meera!! I’ve used wrapping paper in all sorts of places but never on the wall. The last place was to line the drawers of my desk, but some of these are too good to hide away. I love the Junique ones especially!! Just gorgeous. Thanks so much for linking up again — so fab to find to your lovely blog! 🙂 #HomeEtc

There is literally no end to the inspiration for this is there?! I’ve often thought about framing wrapping paper, in fact I think we even have some lying around for this very purpose! Feeling inspired now X #HomeEtc
